DG Information Society and Media of the European Commission have published the new ICT Work Programme for 2011-2012 . This Work Programme defines the priorities for calls for proposals that will result in projects to be launched in the period 2011-12.

The new ICT programme of the FP7 Specific Programme 'Cooperation' has an estimated budget of 1.16 billiion euro for 2011. It has the objective to improve  the  competitiveness  of  European  industry  and enable  Europe  to  master  and shape future developments in ICT so that the demands of its society and economy are met.

It is focussed on a limited set of Challenges to reinforce Europe's presence in the basic ICT technologies and infrastructures, to reinforce ICT contribution to Europe's major socio-economic challenges, to support to Future and Emerging Technologies, to reinforce and support international cooperation, to ensure more efficient, higher quality public services through Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP) in ICT, etc.
